    Winter snow parking rules are now in effect in Kettle River. There is no parking on city streets from midnight to 8 a.m. to allow for snowplows to clean the streets. Just because there is no snow does not mean that the police will not ticket you. Plan to park somewhere off city streets. The Ma & Pa Kettle Days Christmas market and tree lighting will be held Dec. 7.     Ma & Pa Kettle Days is this Friday and Saturday, Aug. 9 and 10. The steak fry is at 5 p.m. Friday at the Kettle River Senior Center. Takeout is available. Saturday events at the Kettle River Senior Center start with a pancake breakfast at 8 a.m., followed by the pie social from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and bingo 3-4 p.m. The midway with food vendors and other vendors is along Minnesota Highway 73.
