Delores Hilda (Selen) Wolner, 96, of Cloquet went to be with the Lord on Dec. 28, 2021, dying from natural causes. She lived her later years at Inter-faith Care Center in Carlton. Dee was born on May 15, 1925, on her family's farm in Blackhoof Township to Wallace J. Selen and Julia M. (Bentfield) Selen. Roland Bromberg, 88, of Northfield and formerly of Cloquet, passed away Dec. 22, 2021, at Benedictine Living Community in Northfield. Roland was born Sept. 4, 1933, the son of Olof and Emma (Knuti) Bromberg, on the family farm in Aurora. We have found some more clues in the curious case of a plaque honoring Sigfred Johnson, a World War II veteran from Cloquet who died in 1948. As reported in the Dec. 17 issue of the Pine Knot, the plaque was discovered hanging on a wall at a salvage yard in the area. An empty semi-truck that was stuck on the railroad tracks near the Sappi guardhouse was hit by a Burlington Northern train Monday. According to Cloquet Area Fire District battalion chief Jeremy Hutchison there were no injuries: the driver had gotten out of the truck before it was struck by the train.
