Eleanore J. Huisinger, 89, of Cloquet, passed away Feb. 2, 2022, at Inter-Faith Care Center in Carlton. She was born June 20, 1932, in Gary, South Dakota, the daughter of Nels and Anna (Hanson) Engeseth. Roy LaVern Martin, 89, of Carlton passed away Monday, Feb. 7, 2022, in St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth. He was born on May 18, 1932 in Nelson to Elvin and Arvella Martin. Roy married Shirley Coen on Oct. 12, 1951, in Dakota County. He worked at Potlatch until 1979 and then was a carpenter with Boldt Construction until his retirement. Minnesota Wilderness forward Max Neill captured the NAHL’s award for top forward for the month of January. The Cloquet-Esko-Carlton boys hockey team held a three-goal lead on Monday night against Duluth East, but were unable to hang on as the Greyhounds scored in overtime to notch a 4-3 win at Northwoods Credit Union Arena. A massive multi-state drug investigation ended last month with arrest warrants issued for 21 people, including three people from Cloquet.
