    For the first half of last Thursday's boys basketball game, the game between Cloquet and the home team Barnum was close. The Lumberjacks held a slim five-point lead, but the game was still up in the air. That all changed when Cloquet came out in a three-quarter-court trap that proved too much for Barnum to handle.     Minnesota’s management of white-tailed deer populations shows numerous accomplishments, and work that remains before some goals and metrics are met, according to a Minnesota Department of Natural Resources midpoint review of the statewide deer plan. The plan is in effect 2018-2028.     Two gutsy efforts helped the Minnesota Wilderness complete a home sweep of the Anchorage Wolverines in the first 2025 series for both teams. Two second period goals Friday helped push Minnesota (16-13-3) over the top for a 3-2 victory. On Saturday, Jakeb Lynch, with 19 seconds left in overtime, lifted the Wilderness to a 6-5 win.
