  • Carlton Fire Department responds to vehicle fire

    The Carlton fire department responded to a car fire Sunday, Jan. 6 on Highway 210 just east of the I-35 interchange. According to Carlton fire chief Derek Wolf, the call came in at 9:45 p.m. Sunday. The car fire was fully involved when the firefighters arrived at the scene. They were there for approximately 45 minutes and Wolf said the car was a complete loss. There were no injuries. The cause of the fire is unknown and the driver of the car could not be found.     A Cromwell man died after rolling his vehicle on I-35 in Finlayson Township on Jan. 3. Junior Milton Krippner, 88, of Cromwell, was traveling south on I-35 near Minnesota Highway 23 when he lost control of his 2004 Dodge Dakota, rolling it into the median where it landed on its roof.
