Robert L. Johnson, 89, of Cloquet passed away Jan. 21, 2023, at Community Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his family. He was born Nov. 22, 1933, in Cloquet, the son of John and Marion (Jesse) Johnson. Bob served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Elmer "Lee" Woodward, 79, of Cloquet passed away Jan. 23, 2023, at Solvay Hospice House in Duluth. He was born June 25, 1943, in Seattle, Washington, the son of Elmer and Laura (Simnis) Woodward. Lee served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was raised in San Diego, California and moved to Duluth in 1966. Lee was united in marriage to Marlys Meemken on Dec. 10, 1966. Gerald "Jerry" Lonke died Jan. 14, 2023, after a brief battle with cancer. He was born on April 22, 1951, in Duluth to Bernard and Betty Lonke. He worked at the DM&IR Railway for 33 years.
