For the first time since 2008, Cloquet will host the Section 7AA individual wrestling tournament this weekend. The individual portion of the tournament is held to determine the top two wrestlers in the section who will go on to the state tournament. Gayle Pattison of Gold Canyon, Arizona, passed in the early morning hours of Feb. 7, 2022. Gayle was the daughter of Noel and Martha Girard of St. Paul. She married Henry Pattison, and they settled in Cloquet, where they owned Pattison Veterinary Hospital for many years as well as a location in Moose Lake. Residents have until 8 a.m. Monday, March 7, to comment on plans for remediation of contaminated groundwater in Esko, adjacent to the Esko Post Office. A notice regarding the comment period appeared on page 5 of the Feb. 4 Pine Knot News.
