The Minnesota Department of Transportation will be closing CSAH 61 under the I-35 bridge starting from Friday, July 26 to approximately Aug. 9. MnDOT will re-open once bridge painting has been completed. The DNR trail under the bridge will remain open during this time. Traffic will be detoured on County Road 61 to County Road 4 to County Road 5. Roger Joseph Tillman Sr., 88, of Kettle River, Minnesota, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on July 23, in Moose Lake, Minnesota at the Moose Lake Village Nursing Home. Roger was born in Cloquet, Minnesota to Joe and Ellen Tillman on April 18, 1936. He went to McGregor High School and graduated in 1954. Steven Paul “Steve” Hills, 67, of Cloquet passed away on July 25, 2024, peacefully overlooking Leech Lake at NorthStar Camp, his favorite place. Steve was born Dec. 11, 1956, to Daniel and Ardelle (Randall) Hills of Cloquet, where he grew up. Steve graduated from Cloquet High School in 1975.
