She was born July 23, 1940, in Kalevala Township, the daughter of Carl and Eva (Anderson) Mattson. Betty graduated from Cromwell High School in 1958 and was united in marriage to Larry Isaacson on July 28, 1956. She worked as a cashier at Red Owl and SuperOne for many years. It was a car show and cornhole on Saturday at the annual Carlton Daze celebration last weekend. Other Friday and Saturday events included sports tournaments, running races, a golf tournament and kid and adult fun downtown. The parade was on Sunday, followed by hot dogs and rootbeer at the firehall as well as chances to work a fire hose. One of the side events to those in town at Carlton Daze is the Paddlemania on the rapids of the St. Louis River, from the Thomson dam to the swinging bridge in Jay Cooke State Park.
