Because of Labor Day weekend, I had to get this news out earlier than usual so thought I’d bring you up to date on my medical issues. I’m back home now for a few days. I’m wearing a drain for my mastectomy, which has to be emptied two or three times a day. I have to record the amount of drainage so the doctor can tell when it’s time to remove it. For more than a century, Cloquet has celebrated Labor Day with parades, picnics and other forms of revelry. That continued Monday, despite a severe lack of volunteers to run the event. A Wright man died Saturday morning after his car was hit broadside by a train near Sawyer. According to a news release from the Carlton County Sheriff's Office, Brock Hascall, 22, was driving south on Lammi Road when his vehicle was struck broadside by a Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) train traveling westbound, parallel with Hwy 210 just after 4:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 9.
