A strong power play and a three-goal lead was not enough for the Minnesota Wilderness Saturday, as it dropped its final game of the NAHL Showcase in Blaine to the Aberdeen Wings. The Wilderness built a 3-0 lead early into the second period after cashing in on its first three man-advantage opportunities. Dennis M. Randa, 82, of Loma Rica, California and formerly of Cloquet, passed away Sept. 3, 2023, at the Bridgeview Post Acute facility in Yuba City, California. Dennis was born Feb. 19, 1941, in Duluth, the son of Walter and Vivian (Kvisto) Randa. Dennis married Carol Rosbacka on June 3, 1961. Lee Lavamaki of Cloquet passed away Aug. 26, 2023. Lee was born July 4, 1985, in Cloquet and attended Cloquet schools. He was preceded in death by his mom, Gayle Lavamaki; grandpa Emil R. Juntunen; Nick Mandoli Sr.; Jeff Proffit; and unborn baby in 2018. Lee loved music, singing and playing his guitars. Most of all, he loved his fur babies.
