Martha E. Councilman, 92, passed away Oct. 10 at Barnes Care Residence 3 in Esko. Martha was born Jan. 11, 1930, in Peru, Indiana to Dr. Walter and Katherine (Judd) Stadler. The family moved to Duluth in 1935. She married Henry Councilman in 1951. She worked at St. Mary's Hospital as an X-ray technician until she joined Henry at Guantanamo Bay Naval Base in Cuba in 1952. Dr. Robert Thomas Johnson, DDS, died at 8:45 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 14, 2022. He was 88 years old, succumbing after a long fight with cancer.
