This should be a savings on the fuel bill and also keep the congregation safer. Pastor Deb will resume 9 a.m. online services starting Nov. 8. Steve Korby|Oct 30, 2020

When sports columnist and celebrity Sid Hartman, of the Minneapolis Star and Tribune and WCCO radio, passed away last week, it pushed me to pause and reflect. Sid was 100 years old. He had an article that he had written printed in the newspaper on the day he died. He had more than 20,000 articles published in his 70-plus year newspaper career. He was friends with Bud Grant, for God’s sake. Didn’t matter your sport of choice or gender, most Minnesota athletic enthusiasts had heard of the inf...

  • Letter: Is it fear mongering or just plain reality?

    Oct 23, 2020

In response to last week’s letter “Say no to political fear mongering,” I — as the flyer author and co-host of the event of which she spoke — feel compelled to respond to what I see as a personal attack on Minnesota House District 11A candidate Jeff Dotseth. I want to set the record straight with facts. The meeting that was held was open to the public. It is a shame that anyone would personally attack someone for a flyer they saw on Facebook. Anyone who truly wanted to know what it was about could have attended the meeting, and then they woul...

  • Schools continue dance with Covid

    Jana Peterson|Oct 9, 2020

Some local schools are reacting to a rise in local Covid-19 cases with a change in learning styles, while others are holding steady, largely because they started the school year doing something other than in-person learning for all grades. Last Thursday, that number came in at 11.24, crossing the benchmark of...

  • Volleyball teams set for limited run

    Greg Oakes|Oct 9, 2020

    Jana Peterson|Oct 2, 2020

One hundred years ago, Cloquet's library was reborn from the ashes of the 1918 fire, thanks to the generosity of two sisters. One hundred years later, the descendants of those sisters - Cordelia (Shaw) Lynds and Hattie (Shaw) DeLescaille - are again coming to the rescue of the building that bears their family name.
