Students, staff and supporters of Cromwell-Wright School gathered Friday to celebrate progress on nearly $7 million in improvements to the school. Districtwide, Cloquet saw a 3 percent increase in Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments scores in the 2023-24 school year. Edith "Edie" Kumm, 91, of Wright passed away Saturday, Aug. 17, 2024, at Open Arms Senior Living in Duluth. Edie was born Feb. 28, 1933, in Wright to Joseph and Agnes Kirzy. She married Glenn Jesse Kumm on Jan. 12, 1952. They made their home in Wright, where they started their own dairy farm, logged the land and began their family.
