During the Nov. 17 meeting, Cloquet City Councilors approved adding a longer-than-usual list of delinquent city utility bills to the tax rolls for the listed properties. This allows residents a longer time to pay the bills without penalties, said finance director Nancy Klassen. Judging by the number of cars parked on the street overnight for Tuesday’s winter storm, a number of residents didn’t get the message that winter parking is in effect now through March. That means overnight parking is not allowed. A 3-year-old boy died Sunday in Cloquet, the result of a crash that left a car split in half. The Cloquet police responded to the single- vehicle crash on the 1500 block of White Pine Trail at approximately 4:30 p.m. Sunday — they found a 2004 Chevy Impala on each side of the road. Cloquet police officer Andrew Murray pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor count of driving while impaired at a hearing in district court last week.
