  • Community Ed restarts

    Ruth Reeves|May 29, 2020

It has been a historic time these past couple of months. Many of our programs have been halted due to the COVID-19 spread. I know people who are infected with COVID-19, or who have died from it. While many people, fortunately, have no or very light symptoms, it is devastating for others. I want to recognize all the workers who have stayed with our child care programs during this time. This vital service allows medical workers, law enforcement and corrections staff and other emergency workers to...

    Pine Knot News staff|May 22, 2020

It is observed on the last Monday in May, when many people also remember family members by placing flowers on graves or simply visiting the cemetery. This year, under the cloud of a health pandemic, Memorial Day in Carlton County will not look like past commemorations. Timothy Soden-Groves|May 22, 2020

Wouldn't you know, I had just put down my glasses somewhere and for the life of me I could not find them. Of course, when I finally discovered them sitting above the brim of my ball cap - on my head - I knew that the great powers of my advancing age and disrepair were upon me, and I must certainly have gained wisdom yet unknown in exchange for my loss of mental acuity. Having located the errant spectacles, I was ready to resume my search for my misplaced cup of coffee and a good breakfast muffin...
