    A 64-year-old Brevator man was injured in a fire in a detached garage last week. The Cloquet Area Fire Department and St. Louis County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to a report of a structure fire in the 3500 block of Nelson Road in Brevator Township at 3:29 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22. The homeowner had attempted to save items from the garage while it was borning, and was transported by ambulance to St. Mary's hospital. He is reported to be in serious but stable condition.     A driver of a pickup was seriously injured Monday night when his 2014 GMC Sierra collided with a trailer of corn pulled by a tractor in Silver Brook Township, forcing a closure of the highway to clean up the corn and clear the vehicles.     The Minnesota Department of Revenue announced Wednesday it will begin reissuing nearly 150,000 one-time tax rebate checks that have gone uncashed and subsequently expired after 60 days from their August and September issuance dates. The reissued checks will go out in two batches: one batch this week and the second batch in early December. The reissued checks will be valid for 60 days from the date of issuance.
