Richard P. Nelson, 96, of Cloquet passed away July 8, 2022, at Sunnyside Health Care Center. Richard was born Oct. 23, 1925, in Madison, Wisconsin, to Marie and Peter Nelson. She graduated from Pequot Lakes High School in 1947. In 1949, she married her high school sweetheart, Gerald “Bud” Haugland, and they celebrated 66 years of marriage before Bud passed away in 2019.
