Cromwell-Wright News

It was a shock to hear that Harold Haapoja, 74, passed away suddenly on Nov. 4 after a workout at a fitness center in Cloquet. His funeral was held at Nelson Funeral Care in Cloquet Saturday, Nov. 10. Harold was involved in so many musical groups and his family and friends will sorely miss him. He is survived by his brothers Wayne and Bill and their families. Sing on Harold, wherever you are!

Ivona Risacher passed away recently, but I don’t have any details.

Bryce Pinnow has been busy making a “Little Free Library” which will be placed in the Cromwell Medical Clinic this coming week. There will be a need for books to be placed in this library and the purpose is to have a place where you can take a book(s) and/or leave books for others to take. The top shelf for grown-up type books and the bottom shelf for kids books. Hope this works out well and is enjoyed by the reading public. Thank you Bryce and the Cromwell Area Community Club sponsors this project.

There were many military veterans represented at the Villa Vista on Friday for their Annual Veteran’s Day celebration. Those honored from the Villa itself were Bob Stewart, Roy Miller, Dave Willie, Ed Malinen, Jim Granholm, Leo Dahlberg, Al Elmer, Bob Saari, Niilo Isaacson, Lauri Latvala, Barb Setterquist, and Les Baden along with several more from the community. Lauri Latvala was the lucky winner of the Quilt of Valor made, donated and presented by the Cromwell Cardinal Quilters. The Vets and their families were then invited to stay for a Beef Stew dinner, bread, and dessert, which most of them did.
