Painting pastor comes to Our Savior's on Sunday

Paul Oman, artist and pastor, will visit Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Cloquet Sunday, Dec. 16 to share his "Drawn to the Word: artistic ministry.

Participate in one of his unique worship and artistic experiences as Oman paints a larger-than-life sized mural reflecting the promise of the Messiah in the world today. Painting and drawing have been a part of Oman's life since childhood and he seeks to "give new vision to God's Word" by using the process of painting to captivate audiences in our visually oriented culture.

Beginning at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, as a part of Our Savior's Advent Festival, the story of the Good News of Jesus will unfold artistically, musically, narratively and scripturally during the event.

Our Savior's Festival Choir, Bell Ensemble, and Praise Team with Brad Browers on organ and Tom Cawcutt on piano will provide the musical offerings together with Congregational songs of the season.

The Advent Festival will also include a Holiday Bake Sale and coffee in Fellowship Hall after the service. There will be a live lefse demonstration, and lots of other fresh holiday treats.

Additionally, a special offering will be received benefiting a variety of missions involving Our Savior's ministries, including Dave Johnson and Bobbi Burns' mission project in the Dominican Republic, and the Haiti Medical Mission that Mary Krohn travels to each year. Voyager's Outdoor Ministry, New Horizons Preschool, Our Savior's Children Youth and Family Ministry and the Cloquet "Backpack" program will also benefit.

All are welcome. Our Savior's is located at 615 12th Street in Cloquet, just across Doddridge Avenue from Washington Elementary.
