MNsure deadlines approach

Open enrollment runs through Jan. 13, but Saturday is the deadline for coverage that begins Jan. 1

Minnesotans looking for private health coverage through the MNsure marketplace beginning Jan. 1, 2019, have until midnight on Saturday, Dec. 15, to complete enrollment at MNsure.org.

“Rates are lower this year. Enroll at MNsure.org by Dec. 15 to ensure you start the new year with the security of health coverage,” said MNsure CEO Nate Clark. “If you need help finding a plan that fits your needs, our MNsure-certified brokers provide free, in-person enrollment assistance.”

Minnesotans can save thousands if they qualify for financial assistance. Get a quick estimate to see if you might qualify for tax credits by using MNsure’s plan comparison tool, or by viewing the income guidelines. Individuals earning up to $48,560 a year, or a family of four earning up to $100,400 a year, could qualify for federal tax credits. Additional income guidelines are available on the MNsure website.

To date, more than 105,900 Minnesotans have signed-up for health care coverage through MNsure for 2019.

MNsure has extended Contact Center hours in the days leading up to the Dec. 15 deadline:

Dec. 14: 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Dec. 15: 8 a.m. to midnight

Additionally, the online MNsure marketplace will have extended hours. Beginning Thursday, Dec. 13, the marketplace will be open 24 hours a day until midnight on Saturday, Dec. 15.

MNsure reminds Minnesotans that although the federal open enrollment period ends Dec. 15, MNsure’s open enrollment period ends one month later — Jan. 13, 2019.

Those who enroll after the Dec. 15 deadline will have coverage that starts Feb. 1, 2019.

In addition to application assistance offered by MNsure-

certified navigators and brokers, MNsure has an enrollment event calendar with daily enrollment events in numerous cities throughout the state.
