Obituary: Margaret "Muggs" Elizabeth Clemens

Margaret “Muggs” Elizabeth Clemens, 92, a lifelong resident of Cloquet, passed away with her family by her side Saturday, Dec. 29, 2018 at Inter-Faith Care Center in Carlton, Minn. She was born July 29, 1926 to Hugh and Elizabeth (Young) Mullen in Cloquet. Muggs was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Eagles Club, Moose Club, North Country Riders Cycle Club and Daughters of Isabella. She worked at Fond du Lac Head Start in the grandparent program and as a cook at various establishments in the Scanlon/Cloquet area over the years. Muggs traveled throughout the area with her husband, Les, while he played in his country band.

Muggs was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leslie, Sr .; granddaughter, Kelly Doran, and her siblings, Jerome, Fern, June, Faith, Manny and Jack. She is survived by her children: Leslie, Jr. (Robin), Claudine (Jerry) Liimatainen, Monica (Tom) Martin, Kess (John) Domongalla, Flora Diver, and Shirley (Terry) Bassett; brother Dale (Denise) Mullen; sister Madonna Morrissette; 20 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled from 5-7 p.m. with a Rosary at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4, at Nelson Funeral Care. Mass of Christian Burial is held at Queen of Peace Catholic Church at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, with a visitation one hour prior to the funeral service. Interment will be in New Holy Family Cemetery.
