Audrey B. (McCuskey) Rustad, 80, of Wrenshall, Minn. passed away Friday, Dec. 28, 2018 at Community Memorial Hospital in Cloquet, Minn.
She was born Jan. 28, 1938 to Ignatz and Ester (DuFrane) Pionk in Kerrick Township, Minn. Audrey married Vernon Rustad Aug.7, 1975. She was employed as a bus driver with the Wrenshall School District for 38 years and with Pine Ridge Homes.
Audrey loved cooking, gardening, sewing and camping. She adored her grandchildren and loved a good game of cribbage. Audrey always hit the dance floor when a favorite polka song was played. She was a people person who enjoyed spending time with friends laughing and having a good time.
Audrey was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Lawrence McCuskey; and brothers Robert Pionk, Richard Pionk, and Virgil Varnes. She is survived by her husband, Vernon Rustad; her children, Randy (Angie) McCuskey, Brenda (Paul) Agurkis, Marty (Gina Villalta) McCuskey, Kelvin McCuskey and Nicholas (Travis Greeley) Rustad; stepdaughters Addy (Mike) Tardy and Cheryl Rustad Kaplan; her siblings, Duane (Sandy) Pionk, Erma (Mel White) Katchmark, and Irvin Varnes; grandchildren Jason (Kim) McCuskey, Daisha McCuskey, Abby (Jeff Bright) Loucks, Cara (Jim) Gotham, Kristen McCuskey, Rachel (Pete) Agurkis, Nicole Agurkis, Weston Tardy, Robin (Jason Fredricks) Tardy, Max Tardy, Jen Kaplan, and Mitch Kaplan; great-grandchildren Eli McCuskey, Grant Gotham, and Norie Bright; and numerous nieces and nephews.
