Adrian Paul Badger

Adrian Paul Badger, 82, formerly of Hoquiam, Wash. and Wright, Minn. died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019 at Inter-Faith Care Center with family by his side. He was born May 20, 1936 to Darell and Mae (Beseman) Badger.

Adrian graduated from Cloquet High School and enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving his country 1955-1958. He moved his family from Cloquet to Hoquiam in 1967. He was stationed at Fort Lewis in Tacoma, Wash. and was drawn to the outdoor recreation. Adrian was a lifelong outdoorsman, hunting and fishing his whole life. He enjoyed fishing trips in Alaska and deer hunting in Wright. After he retired, he returned to the place he loved more than any place in the world, the Beseman Family homestead in Wright.

Adrian worked at Northwest Paper for 10 years before moving to Washington, where he retired from Cascade Natural Gas Company in Aberdeen after 32 years. He was a member of the Elks Club and VFW in Hoquiam; Tamarack Sportsman Club and Hasbeens Pool Team in Wright; and the McGregor Bowling league. Adrian helped people with disabilities building birdhouses, and was active in the Wright Senior Citizens Community Center, Wednesday card games and the Hoquiam Knights of Columbus.

Adrian was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Rhonda Badger; and sister, Mary Ann Laajala. He is survived by his children Rene (Jim) Olson and Doug Badger; brothers Clarence (Patty) Badger, Quentin (Eunice) Badger, and Phillip (Debbie) White; his former spouse, Joan (Vince) Johnson; longtime friend Roberta Osborne; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial Mass: 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 11, 2019 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cromwell, celebrated by Fr. Pio Atonio. Music will be led by Tom and Patty Lass, and Military Honors presented by the Cloquet Combined Honor Guard.
