Carlton Happenings

Welcome to Carlton Happenings. This will be the first of many articles about the Carlton community and the special activities that all Carlton area people can enjoy, or about the people who enrich our lives and community.

On Feb. 1, a pep fest was held at the Carlton High School to introduce the homecoming court to the student body. The parents of each candidate had been asked to write a letter about their child, which was read by staff to introduce each candidate. It was a special way to present each candidate. During the week, students celebrated Homecoming Week by participating in Sleeping Beauty Day, Disney Tuesday, Goofy Day, Twin Day and Spirit Day. On Friday, Feb. 8, students voted for the Homecoming King and Queen, who will be announced after the evening's boys varsity basketball game. The game starts at 6 p.m., so the coronation is expected to take place between 7:15 and 7:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome to the game and coronation. Please come to support the Carlton High School students and staff.

On Saturday, Feb. 9, come out for the community Winterfest Celebration at the Four Seasons Complex, starting at noon. There will be mini golf for all ages, kids' activities, a chili cook-off and open skating. The Carlton fire department will be holding its popular annual Bingo, starting at 7 p.m. at Carlton High School. Be sure to get there early to claim your spot.
