A hometown newspaper with a local office, local owners & lots of local news
A local coalition working to eliminate stigma around mental illness is inviting more businesses to get involved in this important cause. Northland Healthy Minds is a collaborative of businesses, organizations and residents in Northeastern Minnesota and Northwestern Wisconsin focused on decreasing mental illness stigma.
“Make It OK” was created by the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) and HealthPartners. Using the campaign elements, Northland Healthy Minds created a customized toolkit for local employers.
Northland Healthy Minds will be offering free training for employers on implementing the Make It OK campaign. There are three upcoming opportunities for employers over the next several weeks.
Attendees will acquire a basic understanding of the Make It OK campaign and its objectives, learn how to implement a customized toolkit, connect with other participating local employers/organizations, and receive a starter kit of marketing materials. Trainings will be held:
Wednesday, April 3, 12-1 p.m., Lake Superior Room, Government Services Building, 320 W. 2nd St. in Duluth
Thursday, April 5, 5-6 p.m., Denfeld High School, 401 N. 44th Ave. W. in Duluth
