Roger Fenton Davis, 87 of Cloquet passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2019 in Barnes Care in Esko with his loving family by his side. He was born August 9, 1931 in Sisseton, South Dakota to Frank and Marion Davis. In 1938 the family moved to Superior, Wisconsin. Roger graduated from Superior Central High School in 1949. After high school he went to work for Great Northern Railroad until being drafted into the Army in 1952. He served in Korea until 1954. Roger married Shirley Negrete in March of 1953 while on leave from the Army. After his discharge, he worked as a meat cutter for National Tea Grocery in Superior. They moved to Cloquet in 1962 and Roger went to work at Red Owl and later at Super One. He retired in 1994 after 40 years as a meat cutter.
Roger was preceded in death by his brother, Tommy; sister, Marcile Carlson; and brother-in-law, Toivo Carlson.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Shirley; children, Ronald (Donna), Thomas (Kathi), Jon, and Sandy Conklin; brother, Wayne (Verna); grandchildren, Christopher, Ryan, Emily, Sara, Lexi, Madison, and Mitch; and great grandchildren, Luca, Ella, Anna and Charlotte.
