On Feb. 23 and 24, ski jumpers from the Cloquet Ski Club competed in the 2019 Central Junior Ski Jumping Championships. The cold and wind did not deter the more than 20 local jumpers from competing on all six jumps, ranging from the 5-foot jump dubbed "Sue's Slide," all the way up to the towering 70-meter jump. The Cloquet Ski Club members had strong showings in a deep field including brothers Simon (8-meter) and Isaiah (15-meter) Langer who won their age group. By winning, the Langer boys were named Central Junior Ski Jumping Champions.
