Hospital earns Level 4 status

The Minnesota Department of Health has redesignated Community Memorial Hospital as a level 4 trauma hospital. The emergency services staff voluntarily participated in the intense designation process to become part of Minnesota’s statewide trauma system. The process included an outside review of the hospital’s resources and capabilities to care for trauma patients. CMH met the standards of commitment, clinical and equipment resources and staff training. The hospital also participates in a continuous performance improvement process.

Hospital backs breastfeeding

Community Memorial Hospital was named a “Breastfeeding Friendly Workplace” by the Minnesota Department of Health for its contributions to the health of moms and babies.

The designation acknowledges a commitment to acting as a model for the community by supporting healthy families and receiving the business benefits of supporting nursing mothers. The designation is achieved by adopting policy and educating staff about it; ensuring adequate break time for breastfeeding employees; providing a clean, private place to pump breast milk; and a strong support commitment.
