Mendota Castonguay had three hits: including two doubles, two runs scored and a pair of RBIs. Jessica Stevens contributed three hits and three RBI. Anna Wikstrom finished with two and an RBI.

The red-hot Bulldogs stayed that way by shutting out the Mariners in five innings. Abby Mickle picked up the road win on the pitching rubber. She also aided her own cause with three hits: a double and three RBIs and a couple of runs scored. Alena Wallin went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs. Brynne Mickle scored three times and had three RBIs.

Zoie Johnson was the winning pitcher and Kristy DeMuth slashed out four hits, including a double, a home run and a pair of RBIs. Sydney Hanson went 3-for-3 with a triple, two runs scored and a pair of RBIs. Miranda Kelley added two hits, two runs scored and an RBI.

Sarah Christy gave up just three hits for the Rebels on the mound in picking up the pitching win. Christy also helped out offensively with a double among her two hits and two RBIs. Natalie Mikrot had three hits including a double, two RBIs and two runs scored. Gabby Gamst doubled; Ashley Grutkoski finished with two hits and two RBIs. Rachel Christy added three hits, including a triple, two runs scored and two RBIs. Lilli Skelton finished with two hits. Molly Agurkis had two hits for the Bombers.

In a rematch of the Section 7A title game last season, the Bulldogs served notice they are still the team to beat by handling the Tigers behind the 6-hit shutout pitching of Brynne Mickle at home. Mickle also added three hits for Carlton, one of which was a double, and she had two RBIs. Abby Mickle bashed a home run and notched three RBIs. Taylor Nelson had a triple and a couple of runs scored.

Miranda Kelley allowed only one run, which was unearned, in her three innings of work against the Hunters. Dea DeLeon, Kaitlyn Bergerson and Kristy DeMuth all had two hits for the Eskomos and Zoie Johnson crushed a home run at home.

Celia Olesiak stayed hot on the mound by allowing only six hits in the win. Olesiak was strong at the plate as well by belting out four hits, including a triple, and she added four RBIs and two runs scored. Shayna Preston also had a big day with three hits, an RBI and a run scored for the Panthers.

Abby Mickle was strong on the mound and at the plate for the Bulldogs. Mickle gave up no hits in her two innings of pitching and then supplied three hits, which include a double and a triple and a grand slam as well as knocking in six runs. Bella Anderson chipped in for the ‘Dogs offense with a pair of hits and two RBIs and Brynne Mickle recorded two hits, scored three runs and had a stolen base. Taylor Nelson also finished with two hits, three RBIs, a double, a run scored and a stolen base for Carlton.

Melania Madill of the Panthers out dueled Lilli Skelton of the Rebels by tossing a seven-hitter and allowing just two earned runs. Natalie Smith belted a home run for the Panthers and Natalie Lisic went 3-for-4 at the plate and added two RBIs. Alana Young also had two hits for South Ridge. Natalie Mikrot homered for the Rebels , Janna Bode had two hits and Dallis Kukuk had two hits which were a double and a homer for ML-WR.

The Lumberjacks picked up five hits, but stranded seven runners against the area’s top pitcher Mady Stariha in the loss. Josie Steen pitched a solid game for Cloquet giving up only two earned runs in a complete game effort. Keegan Anderson provided two of Cloquet’s five hits.
