Sammy's Pizza gives to DAV

The Cloquet Sammy's Pizza restaurant donated $2,000 to the Disabled American Veterans Friday. Owner Mike Acheson said in celebration of Sammy's 65th anniversary, they donated 65 percent of inside sales that evening to the local DAV. Rotary gives to Vets Hall, DAV

Julie Rothmeier of the Cloquet Rotary Club presents a check for $3,000 to veterans John Marshall (left) and John Werner for St. Louis County Historical Society Veterans Hall at the Duluth Depot. The club also made a donation of $2,000 to the Disabled American Veterans this month. The contributions were made possible through the Rotary March for Veterans Celebration held March 2 at the AAD Shriners Building in Hermantown. The event was attended by more than 300 people and 100 free tickets were given away to veterans. Both Werner and Marshall spoke at the event.
