Obituary: Landon-James Evenson Hall

Landon-James Evenson Hall, 23, of Cloquet went to join the Lord and his sister Danelle Amanda on June 8, 2019. He was born to Barbara and Cully on February 21, 1996 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth, Minnesota.

Landon left our earthly world, peacefully, while working in his perennial flower garden.

Landon had a very energetic presence about him which would light up every room he walked into. Landon’s dreams were endless; he always saw his visions of creativity become reality. Landon continually reached for the stars and he could conquer any hardship he faced. He had a smile that went from ear to ear, and a laugh that was both contagious and distinguishable through a crowd and began and ended each day with “I love you.” You will remember Landon by these phrases: “HI...”, “OK…”, “I can do that,” and “I’ll be there.”

Landon’s strong work ethic started at a young age with Upward Bound which led to his current position as a Web Developer at The College of Saint Scholastica, while still pursuing a double major in computer science and theater, with a minor in photography. Landon felt extremely honored having the opportunity to teach an Upward Bound class at CSS this July. In addition, he was a driven landscaper both personally and professionally. He thoroughly enjoyed his management position at The Plant Place in Cloquet during summer months. His love of technology gifted him employment with both the Cloquet Community Education and the Duluth Public Schools ISD 709.

Landon’s heart and soul will forever live in theater. He performed in shows in theaters around the Northland: Prairie Fire Theater, County Seat, Duluth Playhouse, Cloquet High School Theater, and The College of Saint Scholastica, which all contributed to Landon’s current position as Director of the Cloquet High School fall musicals. Landon attributed his success in part to Kevin and Gail Hamre for their love and commitment.

Landon was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mahlon and Elvera Roe; paternal grandparents, James and Jackie Hall; his special aunt, Sue; along with other treasured family members.

Landon is survived by mom, Barbara (Fred); father, Cully (Tami); sister, Amanda (Wyatt); nephew, Mason; nieces, Mylie and Alyvia; life partner, Kevin Polson; and uncles and aunts, Gary (Anne), Mike (Tari), Corky (Terrie), “Auntie Gretchen,” Gayle (John), and Kerry (Jody).
