They train all spring, running inside when the snow prevents outdoor activities, racing at home and schools across the region, hoping they will be injury free and ready when the section meet rolls around.
For many of the Cloquet High School track and field athletes, that wish came true.
"We hope for the kids to do the best of their season and they did," said Cloquet head coach Tim Prosen. "We had PRs (personal records) pretty much across the board. They performed well when it mattered and we had beautiful weather. I truly feel things went the right way. It was nice."
