The Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College Scrubs Camp participants experienced a great introduction to emergency medicine from the paramedics, professional medical staff, and pilot of the Life Link III helicopter that landed at Hilltop Park during the camp. The paramedics and firefighters of the Cloquet Area Fire District also demonstrated some of their emergency equipment. The three-day residential Scrubs Camp brought 40 high school students from throughout Minnesota to the campus in June. Students have the opportunity to meet with a range of healthcare professionals and visit work settings on field trips to regional healthcare facilities. This was the third Scrubs Camp at Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College. Its goal is to get students excited and interested in health science professions, and to help them focus on what they can do in middle and high school to prepare for health care careers.
