Education notes

Robert Sobczak of Cloquet was named to the second semester dean’s list at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota in Winona. The list includes 343 undergraduate students who earned a grade point average of 3.60 or better on a 4.0 scale.

The Cloquet All-Night Graduation Party Committee of Melissa Kelley, Tracy Mattson, Stef Gunelson, Michele Walsh, Vickie Nordin, Theresa Sarkela, Bobbee Conway, Leigh Rahkola and Bobbie Turner extends a thank you to those who helped make the 2019 celebration a success. The committee reports that the graduates had a fantastic time in a safe environment that included a hypnotist, dance, inflatable games, bean bag tournament, magician, blackjack, carnival games, food, and more. Each graduate recived a prize valued at $25 and some won larger prizes valued at $100 or more.

The committee thanks the Cloquet Education Foundation and the local businesses and individuals who gave generously to make the party possible.

The custodial staff and parent volunteers also make the event run smoothly, the committee reported.

It was impressed with the seniors for their participation and enthusiasm to make it a night to remember.
