What's moving and shaking in the business community

While Cloquet has seen its share of new buildings and businesses enter the local market since the new year started - think Members Cooperative Credit Union and Aldi grocery store - the changes don't end there. Other local businesses have remodeled, changed location or names, and at least two new businesses have popped up at existing properties. Pine Knot News intern Caleb Swanson hit the streets to find out what's moving and shaking in the business world.

Ellison Family Chiropractic

Ellison Family Chiropractic, formerly known as Leno Chiropractic, is happy to serve Carlton County families with all their chiropractic needs. Owner Kayla Ellison and her team focus on making the lives of all their customers ache- and pain-free. Skutevik's Floral

Skutevik's Floral has moved from its longtime 14th Street location in Cloquet. The new location is bigger, so they can offer more products and continue to sell their beloved floral arrangements. Find the new store at 305 Broadway Ave. in Cloquet, or call Skutevik's Floral at 218-879-1556.

StoragePro

What was old is new again. StoragePro is a new storage and rental business at the former McDonald Rental site in Cloquet at 1208 Highway 33 in Cloquet. They own 575 storage units on-site, including indoor climate-controlled storage units. StoragePro also carries a myriad of different machines and pieces of equipment for rent. North Country Comfort

North Country Comfort is a brand-new hemp store in Cloquet. North Country Comfort opened June 29 and is run by its owner Dan Shofner. They offer many natural oils and cannabidiol-based (CBD) products made from the hemp plant. They are open 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays, and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sundays. If you have any questions,stop in at their new shop on 14th Street between Cloquet Avenue and Avenue C.

Community Printing

Community Printing recently updated the exterior of their shop on Cloquet Ave. They have played a key role in many businesses, projects and events in the community. Their hours and location remain the same.

Southgate Pizza

Annette Kiehn worked her last shift as an owner of Southgate Pizza last Friday, announcing that she had sold the business after three years of owning the longtime Cloquet pizzeria. In the photo above, Kiehn poses with her staff, from left, Conrad Kiehn, Joe Puidokas and Brady Proulx. The restaurant will be reopening soon under new ownership, Kiehn said.
