The first ever Pine Valley Bike, Run, Family Fun 13K Duathlon is set for Sunday, Aug. 11 in Cloquet’s Pine Valley Recreation Area. Participants can choose from several races, including a 13K duathlon (7.5K mountain bike, 5.5K run) at 12 p.m., a 7.5K mountain bike race also at 12 p.m., a 5.5K fun run at 1 p.m., and a 1.2K fun run for families with kids ages 10 and under at 11 a.m. Cost is $25 per individual event and $50 per duathlon team. This event introduces Cloquet’s new mountain/fat bike trail to the Northland and is a fundraiser to extend the mountain bike trail to the planned 5 miles from the current completed course of nearly 2½ miles. Burgers, dogs and brats to follow; donations accepted.
Register online at northlandrunner.com or ultrasignup.com and search for “Pine Valley - Bike, Run, Family Fun.”
Don’t confuse this race with the Lost Forester and Pine Valley 5.5K and 11K runs — those are still happening on Labor Day.
