Parading around during Carlton Daze

Plenty of fun!

Whether you were running a race or running to garage sales or simply running between events in and around Carlton last weekend, there was some kind of fun for everyone during the annual Carlton Daze celebration.

Spectators headed to Jay Cooke State Park to check out the Paddlemania competition on the St. Louis River and the Minnesota Voyageur Ultramarathon runners as they passed over the swinging bridge on their 50-mile route to and from Duluth.

In Carlton there was softball, volleyball, crafts, pie baking, kids' games, music, a car show, more running, food and drink, horseshoe and bean bag tournaments, more music and more food and a wonderful parade that wrapped up just as it started to sprinkle in downtown Carlton Sunday.

Events Sunday finished up with free root beer floats at the Carlton fire department and a pedal tractor pull at the bike shelter, along with another bean bag tournament and more music.
