Kay Konietzko, 77, of Cloquet, Minnesota, passed away Sunday, Aug. 18, 2019 surrounded by family at Essentia St. Mary’s in Duluth.
Kay was born in Litchfield, Minnesota to Harry and Leona (Albin) Hershey. She graduated from Litchfield High School. She married John Konietzko on Oct. 6, 1962. Kay attended school for radiologic technology, and worked as an X-ray technician for Community Memorial Hospital and the Raiter Clinic in Cloquet for 25 years. Kay was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church, and a member of the Registered Radiology Technology. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, John, in 2015.
She leaves behind her children Kristen (Ron) Johnson and Kraig Konietzko; sister, Kimberly (Doug) Houchins; seven grandchildren, Kayla Tondryk, Katelyn (Bryan) Bieniek, Nicole Johnson, Kristianna Konietzko, Ryanne Johnson, Luke Konietzko and Lance Konietzko; three great-grandchildren, Aiden and Madison Tondryk and Cooper Skinner; brothers- and sisters-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23, 2019, and continuing at 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial saturday, Aug. 24, all at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Cloquet. Interment will be held in the New Calvary Cemetery with lunch following in the church parish hall.
