The Cromwell-Wright school is now sponsoring a BackPack Program at the elementary school through the Second Harvest Northern Lakes Food Bank. Forms were sent home with students for parents to sign up for the program by Oct. 7. The BackPack Program provides a bag of nutritious food for your child for the weekend throughout the school year. Each bag contains a variety of items including main entrées, breakfast items, fruit, vegetables, snacks and often juice or shelf-stable milk. Program participants receive their bags at the end of the day on the last day of the school week. Call 218-644-3737, ext. 2138 if you have any questions.

Bethlehem Quilting has resumed and meets at 9 a.m. Tuesdays. New members, including men, are encouraged to join. No experience needed. The quilters made more than 30 quilts last year. Quite an accomplishment for the handful of women who participated. Quilts are donated to Duluth's Damiano Center, Union Gospel, and to area folks in need and our confirmation youth.

Quilting will resume soon at Bethany as well. Just check out the Be-Attitudes Lutheran church newsletter for October to find the times and dates.

The Bethlehem fall Christmas bazaar is soon approaching, so look for gently used or new Christmas items to donate. The bazaar is Dec. 14 and items can be brought to the church any time. Plans are also in the works for a women's get-together during the Christmas season. Ideas, anyone?
