There will be more on the line than a football game Friday evening at Cloquet's Bromberg Field: this year's homecoming royalty will be crowned at halftime of the game against Grand Rapids. Candidates for queen are Brylee Kiminski, Jaxie Pogorelc, Lucy Sinkkonen, Sydney Hall, Sophie Brenner, Brianna Despot, Kiana Bender, Emmie Ellena and Aleyxs Serafin. Candidates for king are Ryan Conway, Josh South, Otto Cockburn, Jack Huhta, Trey Harkins, Ethan Gunderson, Evan McWilliams, Conrad Kiehn, Elijah Halli and Jordan Allen. Students have been enjoying homecoming activities all week, and there will be tailgating fun for fans and students before Friday's game.

The Eskomos will crown the 2019 Homecoming King and Queen Friday morning, so look for royalty during Friday's 5 p.m. home game against Pine City. Queen candidates are pictured in the front row, from left: Sara Froeyland, Ella Magnuson, Rachel Pantsar, Amber Greniger and Jenna Zdebski. King candidates, back row from left, include Jonah Laundergan, Keegan Akervik, James LeGarde, Preston Lowe and Josh Bolgrean. Students have been participating in dress-up days all week, including a "rent a senior" day on Friday.
