Moose Lake concert seasons opens next week

Join Agate Encores Community Concerts at the Moose Lake area high school at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 27 as they open a new season with a performance by the Twin Ports Wind Orchestra. The school’s auditorium will be filled with more than 60 of the finest adult wind and percussion players in the greater Duluth/Superior region.

Currently celebrating its 30th season, Twin Ports Wind Orchestra performs exceptional symphonic band literature ranging from marches and traditional pieces to creative new works. The ensemble provides its members, who are primarily local professional musicians and music educators, with an outlet for their love of artistic expression through music.

Under the superb leadership of Dr. Mark Whitlock, music department head and director of bands at the University of Minnesota Duluth, the Twin Ports Wind Orchestra concert promises to be engaging and appealing to listeners of all ages. Who knows? You may even be inspired to dust off your high school band instrument and start playing again! Tickets are now available online at http://www.agateencores.org or at the door. Look for more in next week’s Pine Knot News.
