Charles D. Lindquist, 83, of Cloquet, Minn. passed away Saturday, Oct. 12, 2019 at St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth.
Charlie was born May 24, 1936 in Cloquet to Erick and Jenny (Johnson) Lindquist. He served in the U.S. Navy 1954-1958. He was united in marriage to Joyce Peil on Oct. 25, 1963. Charlie worked for the Wood Conversion Company and Conwed Corporation, and retired from USG in May of 1998.
Charlie loved golfing at Big Lake Golf Club and numerous golf courses across Minnesota and Wisconsin. He enjoyed the fishing opener with his buddies, and family outings at his cabin on Little Grand Lake and numerous resorts throughout Minnesota. Charlie also enjoyed a good drum and bugle corp, and polka dancing with his wife Joyce.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents; two infant brothers; brothers William, Alden and Richard Lindquist; sisters Helen (Perry) Roen, Mary (Rodney) Peterson and Mardella Lindquist. He is survived by his wife, Joyce; children Russ Peil, Rick Peil, Jerry Lindquist and Shelley (Tom Lindenfelser) Lindquist; sisters-in-law Ardythe Lindquist and Carol Lindquist; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
