Harry A. McCuskey, 88, of Cloquet, Minnesota passed away Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2019 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth.
He was born Dec. 15, 1930 in Holyoke to Homer and Anna (Oltmann) McCuskey. Harry served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked as an electrician for Conwed Corporation in Cloquet and for Midwest Energy in Superior. Harry was a life member of the Hebert Kennedy VFW Post 3979, the Carl Anderson American Legion Post 262, the Cloquet Country Club, and Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Harry loved golfing, cribbage with his Wednesday cribbage buddies, traveling (especially his Scotland golf trip with his son Ken), and spending time with his family.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Mary Ann; brothers Albert and Donald McCuskey; sisters Anna Strand and Margaret Nikstad; and a granddaughter, Ryan Nelson.
He is survived by his children Kenneth (Marie) McCuskey, Gary (Margie) McCuskey, Bonnie McCuskey and Steve (Corinne) McCuskey; grandchildren Erin, Peter, Dustin, Chris McCuskey, Samantha Nelson, Jessica (Mark) McCuskey-Zahn, Alec and Colleen McCuskey; great-grandchildren Haylee and Kaylie McCuskey, and Grace and Wyatt Zahn; his second wife, Carol Palmer, and her children and grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21, 2019 and continuing at 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. memorial service Tuesday, Oct. 22, all at Nelson Funeral Care in Cloquet. Military Honors to be presented by the Cloquet Combined Honor Guard. A luncheon followed in the fellowship room. Burial in the Holyoke Cemetery. Memorials to the Disabled American Veterans are preferred.
