A hometown newspaper with a local office, local owners & lots of local news
Editor's note: Lauren Soukkala, age 10, of Barnum submitted this frightening and fun tale of a Halloween gone weird to the Pine Knot News. We typed up the story mostly as submitted - adding a little punctuation here and there. Lauren, right, sent her work on a blood red piece of paper with a drawing to accompany the story. Creatively enough, the red paper made the art difficult to reproduce here.
Once upon a time it was one day before Halloween and everybody was carving pumpkins because they have a pumpkins carving contest. Everybody was finishing there costumes for Halloween. This year the costumes was out of this world, litterlay some were aliens. The Soukkala family was Alices and Wonderland themed ... they were so pumped for Halloween. The next morning the whole town could not wait. Since it was a small town they just left buckets of candy out for the kids. When it was Halloween night, everybody was in costumes trick or treating until the moon was shining all the kids in the costumes were feeling weird. The kids were turning into there costumes so the people with aliens were really aliens!!! All parents were freaking out but they still wanted to trick or treat so they did and they found out that to brake the curse they have to be in the Halloween spirit so they just did the pumpkins contest and everybody won. By midnight everybody was back to normal.
The End
