CROSS COUNTRY

Section 7A and 7AA sections were set for Thursday, Oct. 24 at the Cloquet Country Club Golf Course with 7A races starting at 11 a.m. and 7AA races starting at 3 p.m. The State meet is Nov. 2 at St. Olaf College, Northfield.

GIRLS SOCCER SECTIONS

The Cloquet-Carlton girls team was set to play Academy of Holy Angels in a state quarterfinals match Thursday night, Oct. 24, at Chisago Lakes High School in Lindstrom. The winner of that game will play at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28 at U.S. Bank Stadium against either Orono or Rochester Lourdes High School.

FOOTBALL SECTIONS

Section 5 Nine-Man

South Ridge plays Hill City/Northland at home 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26. The winner of that game will play in the championship game 4:45 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1 at Esko Sports Complex.

Section 7A

Carlton/Wrenshall plays at Deer River 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26. The winner of that game will play in the championship game 7:15 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1 at Esko Sports Complex.

Section 7AA

Moose Lake/Willow River plays Royalton High School in Willow River 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26. The winner of that game will play in the championship game 7:15 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31 at Esko Sports Complex.

Section 7AAA

Esko High School plays Proctor in Esko 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26. The winner of that game will play in the championship game 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31 at UMD’s Malosky Stadium.

Section 7AAAA

Cloquet High School will play Chisago Lakes High School at Cloquet’s Bromberg Field 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26. The winner of that game will play in the championship game 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1 at Chisago Lakes High School.

VOLLEYBALL

Section 7A

Carlton High School was set to play Cook County Wednesday night. If Carlton keeps winning, they would play the winner of the South Ridge vs. Barnum game in a quarterfinal game at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25. Cromwell-Wright and Moose Lake/Willow River were playing in a different Wednesday night match, with the winner to advance to a quarterfinal match at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25.

Winners will advance to the Section 7A semifinal match at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30 at Lincoln School in Hibbing. The championship match is set for 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2 with the site TBD.

Section 7AA

Esko High School was set to play Mora Wednesday night, with Cloquet facing Pine City at the same time. The winners of those two games will play each other in a 7 p.m. match Friday, Oct. 25. The winner Friday will advance to the section quarterfinal game 5:15 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30. The Section 7AA championship game is set for 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2.
