Marjorie J. Reed, 98, of Cloquet, Minnesota passed away Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2019 at Evergreen Knoll.
She was born March 23, 1921 in Coleraine to Gust and Bernice (Hallstrom) Johnson. Marge grew up in Carlton and graduated from Carlton High School. She moved to Cloquet in 1950 and worked as a medical records secretary for Community Memorial Hospital for 23 years, retiring in 1983. She was very active all her life with numerous organizations including the KloKay BoKay Garden Club, Pine Needle Quilters, Big Lake Golf Club, Order of Templar Lady, Lotus Club, Hospital Mom with the Shrine Hospital for Children, Eastern Star, Honored Ladies of AAD Shrine, honorary member of Viking AAD Shrine, Ladies Auxiliary of the Duluth Commandery for York Rite, and was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and the Zioneers.
Marge was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clifton Reed; and a daughter, Pamela Reed-Beck.
She is survived by her daughter Sandra Reed; grandchildren, Michael (Claudia) Grider, Jacqueline (Robin) Horner, Heidi Holznagel and Chad (Ann Bottdorf) Holznagel; great-grandchildren, Craig Schilling, Samuel Grider and Sasha Grider; and son-in-law, Richard Beck.
Visitation: 12 p.m. until the 1 p.m. memorial service Saturday, Nov. 16, 2019 at Nelson Funeral Care in Cloquet. A luncheon will follow in the Fellowship Room.
