Little Ariahlyn Goodin, daughter of Luc and Suzy Goodin, will be baptized on Sunday, Dec. 1 at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church at their 9 a.m. service. Please join the family in this special ceremony.

Our sympathy goes out to the family of Harold Arthur Maki, 82, of Cromwell who passed away Nov. 20 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth. He had been a resident of Cardinal Court in Cromwell. Harold was raised in Kalevala Township and attended grade school there prior to graduating from Cromwell High School in 1955. He was a dairy farmer and worked as a custodian in the Cromwell School system until his retirement in 2017. An avid sports fan, Harold became friends with many of the students in Cromwell School system and enjoyed watching them in all their sports.

Yoga will be held 11 a.m. to noon on the following Mondays: Dec. 2, 9, 30. No yoga Dec. 16 or Dec. 23. Cromwell Park Pavilion.

Bethlehem Quilting resumed and meets Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to noon. New members, including men, are encouraged to join them. No experience is necessary. Quilts are donated to Damiano, Union Gospel, area folks in need and our confirmation youth.

The Bethany-Bethlehem Memorial Committee met Nov. 18 at 10 a.m. at the Villa Vista to pay tribute to residents who have passed away in the past two months, including Eugenia Lisson, Lila Niskanen, Les Braden, June Kingsley, John Cluett and Clarence “Junie” Smith, Jr. The next service will be in conjunction with the community-wide Luminary Service at 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 12. All area folks are urged to attend these services or join the committee members. Luminary bags in memory of loved ones can be purchased for $1 each from any of the Luminary members: Barbara Burton, Jennie K. Hanson, Sharon Houck, Walter and Beth Collman or Lindsay Lally. The Bethlehem Fall Christmas Bazaar is approaching so please look for gently used or new Christmas items to donate to the cause. The bazaar is scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon Dec. 14; items can be brought to the church. Diane Anderson will also be taking orders for See’s Candy and there will be some available at the bazaar, too. Cookie packing will take place too, so get your homemade goodies to church by 9 a.m.

The Bethlehem and Bethany Sunday school Programs will be held during church on Sunday, Dec. 15 at 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m respectively.

The Villa Vista/Cardinal Courts Family Night is scheduled for Dec. 11 at 6 p.m.

Parents and grandparents: Mark your calendars as Santa and Mrs. Santa will be at the Cromwell City Hall from 2-4 p.m. Dec. 14 to meet with the kids and give out treat bags.

The Christmas Caring Program is also asking for donations for this year’s gift distribution to our area youth. Donations of new toys, gift cards, snow pants, etc. can be dropped off in the boxes at area churches or brought to Pam Issendorf at the Clothing Depot on Thursdays or send financial donations to Pam at 410 Fifth St., Box 9, Suite C, Wright, MN 55798.

Also, coming up at the Encore Theater in Cloquet on December 6-8 and 11-15 is the play “Sorry! Wrong Chimney!” This is a Christmas Comedy for the whole family to enjoy. Visit http://www.countyseattheater.com to find out more.

Feel free to join the community coffee hour at Bethany Lutheran Church in Cromwell from 8:30 to 10 a.m. every Monday.
