Rickey Allen Grimm, 63, of Mahtowa, Minnesota, passed away Dec. 9, 2019 after a six-week battle with Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease.
Rick was born to Helen (Ostby) and Robert Grimm, the third of seven children. He graduated from Barnum High School in 1975. He and Joy Skog were joined in marriage June 2, 1979, celebrating 40 years this summer. He retired as a cement mason for Local 633. Since retiring eight years ago, he enjoyed spending time having coffee with family and friends, daily trips to Menards, trips to Las Vegas, and being Mr. Fix-It. He had a love and talent for music, and played the drums, guitar and harmonica.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Helen Grimm; brother Mel Grimm; and niece Brianne Grimm.
He is survived by his wife, Joy; daughter, Ryan Grimm; sons, Justin and Kyle (Farrah) Grimm; grandchildren, Aryah, Hera and Faith; siblings Terry (Brian) Sweeney, Rodney (Nancy) Grimm, Tim (Cindi) Grimm, Todd (Lisa) Grimm, and Brenda (Rod) Servaty; sisters-in-law, Mary, Jane (Mark), Betty and Becky (Mary); and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Visitation: 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service Saturday, Dec. 21 at Good Hope Church, 55 Armory Road in Cloquet, with Pastor Mike officiating. A luncheon will follow the service.
