Strange tales coming to library

Storyteller Chad Lewis says he expects to bring a "bizarre" evening of tales from "the dark side of winter" to the Cloquet Public Library on Jan. 16. He may indeed be right, given his descriptions.

"Winter may seem like a quiet time," Lewis says, "but it is actually filled with bizarre tales and stories of cannibalistic spirits, Krampus the anti-Santa Claus, stories of little people, werewolves, witches, people being burned alive, and numerous other cold traditions."

The free library event begins at 6 p.m.

Lewis has been on the hunt for the strange and paranormal the past two decades. He says he has "traveled the back roads of the world in search of the strange and unusual. From tracking vampires in Transylvania and searching for the elusive monster of Loch Ness to trailing the dangerous Tata Duende through remote villages of Belize."

He has been featured on a variety of television shows about mysterious occurrences and lectures frequently on his findings. With a master's degree in psychology, he has written more than 20 books on the supernatural.

"The more bizarre the legend is, the more likely you will find me there," he said. At least for one night, he'll be right here in Carlton County.
